Severe gales in Scandinavia with rain, sleet and snow, more rain in central Mediterranean

Wednesday
A few coastal shows along the coast of Galicia and the Basque in northern Spain with Portugal remaining mostly dry through Wednesday. However, a rash of showers are expected through the Balearics and Italy through much of the day as low pressure remains in control, with some flash flooding possible in parts of central and northern Italy. A more unsettled day too in Albania and Greece, with heavy and persistent showers through much of the day.
High pressure in control across France with a mostly dry day and a few sunny spells developing later in the afternoon. Mostly dry too across Switzerland, much of Germany, Austria and Slovakia in the anticyclonic conditions. A little rain in the far north of the low countries associated with a weather front to the north. A mostly dry day across Poland once more.
An unsettled day across Scandinavia as bands of rain, possibly falling as sleet or snow in northern parts of the region sweep eastwards across Norway, Sweden, and Finland, with rain a little lighter and patchier across Denmark. Sleet or snow reaches Estonia and Latvia later.

Thursday
Fine and sunny for most of Spain and Portugal. Staying fair for the Balearics, again with some sunshine here. Rain affecting Sardinia and Sicily this spreading to southern Italy where it will be heavy. Fair for northern Italy, good spells of sunshine here. Showers affecting much of Greece, some heavy with showers in western Turkey too. The rest of Turkey should be dry and bright.
Fine for most of France, plenty of sunshine and staying dry too. The Low Countries are dry too although it will be windy here. More strong winds across northern Germany and Poland, feeling colder here too. Hungary and Austria as well as Switzerland will be cooler and dry with good spells of sunshine.
An unsettled day in Scandinavia. Gales for Denmark with rain here. More rain in the Baltic States with gales, these also affecting the south of Sweden. Finland and northern Sweden should be dry and bright. Widespread gales in Norway as a winter storm brings heavy rain to southern areas, sleet and snow on hills. Snow showers for northern Norway.
