More wind and rain spreads from west into the weekend
Friday Showers for northern Spain and Portugal, but southern Costas looking dry and warm during the afternoon. Rain persisting near Biscay. Showery rain affecting western parts of France into the afternoon with some heavy rain expected through the southwest of the country in particular. Eastern and central France plus southern Germany should remain largely dry much of the day. Rain clears from northern Italy and Switzerland, gradually becoming drier for Austria too. Some scattered showers are possible at times over the Alps. Heavy rain for the Balkans with some showers following on during the afternoon. Wet too for southern Italy. A band of rain moves east across Poland. Heavy rain for Slovakia and Hungary into the afternoon. Showery across the Low Countries into northwest Germany and Denmark. Heavy rain persists through southern Norway and Sweden. A mostly dry day for Finland and the Baltic states but rather windy.
Saturday Heavy rain sweeps into western Europe again associated with another deep low to the northwest. Gales for western coasts of France and northwest Iberia too. Rain spreads across most of France into the Low Countries and western Germany. Less wet to the south of France, whilst southern Spain and the Balearics will be mainly dry. Local showers for Italy, but a lot of fine weather. Heavy rain affects Greece, Romania and Bulgaria, possibly thundery. Eastern Europe will be generally dry with sunshine and some variable fog patches. A strengthening breeze through eastern Germany into Poland. Rain advances north across Scandinavia, heaviest for eastern Sweden. Rain and drizzle for Finland. Rain also moves into southern Norway. Showers for Denmark.
