Cold and wintry in western Europe, milder in the east
A mixture of sunny spells and heavy wintry showers across Iberia on Friday with the heaviest rain in the south of Spain. Wet too for the Balearics, Corsica and Sardinia with Corsica seeing some particularly heavy rain. Heavy rain and snow for northern Italy and along the west coast too. Heavy rain too for the western Balkans while western fringes of Greece and Turkey may see some light showers too but should be mostly dry and bright. Wet and overcast for much of France while the Low Countries should remain dry but overcast. Heavy rain and snow for Switzerland and western Austria. Overcast but mostly dry for Hungary, the Czech Republic, Germany and Poland.
Denmark will be mostly overcast with some light snow through the early afternoon while scattered snow showers will move northward across the Baltics through the day. A mostly dry day for Finland with snow moving into southern fringes through the afternoon. Snow for central parts of Sweden and southeastern parts of Norway. Dry elsewhere.
Cold and wet in the north of Spain today. Good spells of sunshine for Portugal and in the south of Spain. Rain in the Balearics, perhaps falling as sleet in places. Wet for Italy with rain in the south but heavy snow affecting northern areas. Fair in Greece and warm too. Staying dry in Turkey with more dry weather here.
Snow showers affecting France, some of them heavy. Cold with scattered snow showers in the Low Countries. Further snow showers in northern Germany, but dry to the south. Milder across Finland with sunshine and showers. Some snow affecting Hungary, Austria and Switzerland.
Denmark will be windy, cloudy and wet. Wind and rain affecting the Baltic States. Windy and cold in Finland. Windy with some heavy snow across much of Sweden. Dry and cold over Norway.
