Hot and sunny southwest Spain & Portugal
Warm and sunny in southern Spain and Portugal, temperatures topping 30C in Andalucia and the Algarve. Much cooler toward the north of Spain, where a northeasterly breeze will bring some showers. Low pressure around the Gulf of Genoa produces areas of heavy rain for northern and central Italy, plus strong winds for southern France. Areas of rain also affect central and western France.
Clusters of showers spread from the north into the Low Countries, plus locally across western Germany, although further east will be mainly dry. Also largely dry for Poland. Local areas of rain for Slovakia and Ukraine, also into the Baltic states. Much of southeastern Europe will be dry and warm, with sunshine for Greece and the Black Sea coasts.
Low pressure over Scandinavia sees areas of rain or showers rotating around slowly for Sweden and Finland, tending to push northwards. Showers for Norway with snow on the mountains, although southern areas mainly dry. Showers in Denmark likely to clear to become often dry.
Low pressure over the central Mediterranean brings unsettled conditions. Heavy and thundery bursts of rain for southern Italy, Sicily, Corsica and Sardinia. Prolonged heavy rain is likely to push into the Balkan states, later western Greece. Areas toward the Black Sea stay dry and warm.
Spain and Portugal stay dry, and very warm in the southwest. Dry for southern France, although still a strong breeze. Rain moves into northwestern France. Showery conditions across central Europe, some slow-moving areas of rain for central and southern Germany. Rain also affects Hungary, Slovakia and Poland.
A general area of low pressure over Scandinavia brings a mix of sunshine and showers, locally frequent, whilst nearby escapes often dry. Much of south and western Norway may stay dry much of the day.
