Wet In the North
Warm and Sunny In the South

Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 20th June 2018
Duty forecaster: Matthew Hugo

Unsettled weather dominates across more northern areas, drier further south where very warm and humid.

Wednesday
During Wednesday and little change is predicted with further low pressure dominated conditions across most of the UK and up into Scandinavia where it will remain particularly wet and windy. A greater risk of some thunderstorms is possible across Spain and Portugal on Wednesday, than compared with Tuesday, but, otherwise much of mainland Europe will maintain mainly dry and settled conditions with plenty of sunshine and it will also remain very warm and humid too, if not rather hot in places.

Thursday
Into Thursday and cool and unsettled conditions will dominate across much of Norway, Sweden and Finland as low pressure persists here bringing some particularly unsettled conditions for the time of year. A cool N or NW'ly air mass dominates across the UK but with mainly dry conditions developing as high pressure builds in from the west. Cool and showery conditions will develop across more northern areas of France too. The rest of Europe, particularly through the Med will maintain a lot of dry and sunny weather, very warm and humid too but there will be some scattered heavy afternoon thunderstorms and these most likely across inland areas of Spain, Italy and eastwards across parts of Greece and Turkey.
