High pressure brings dry and settled conditions to central and eastern Europe


Monday
Sunshine and showers for Spain and Portugal on Monday. Showers mainly focussed to the north and east. Heavy, thundery showers affecting the Balearic Islands. Showers too for northern parts of Italy while central and southern areas will see good spells of sunshine. Sunny too for Greece and much of Turkey though eastern parts of Turkey could see isolated showers developing.
Showers continuing for much of France - these lighter to the west with some heavy, thundery bursts possible to the east. Scattered showers continuing too for the Low Countries and western Germany but these tending to ease through the day. A fair and dry day for eastern Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary while Switzerland sees further outbreaks of rain.
Scattered showers for Denmark and the Baltic States on Monday with rain clearing to the east from Finland to leave a dry and fine day here. Dry and fine too for Sweden and much of Norway with good spells of sunshine though rain arrives to the west later.

Tuesday
Heavy rain for eastern and northern parts of Spain on Tuesday with isolated showers to the west and for Portugal where there will be good spells of sunshine between the showers. Heavy rain affects the Balearics too. Mostly dry for Italy with variable amounts of cloud around. Dry, sunny and warm for Greece and western Turkey. Isolated showers for eastern Turkey.
Heavy, thundery bursts of rain affect much of southern and western France with dry and cloudy conditions to the northeast. Mostly dry across much of the rest of western and central Europe including for the Low Countries, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Switzerland, Austria and Hungary with variable amounts of cloud but plenty of sunshine too.
A dry fine day for Denmark while early showers clear to the east from Finland and the Baltic States leaving a fine, dry day here too. Wintry showers for the far north of Sweden and for western parts of Norway. Dry and fine to the south.
