Cool easterly winds in central Europe


Sunday
A cool easterly wind prevails across central Europe, whilst pressure stays high to the north, and low in the south. Areas of showers for Spain and Portugal, most widespread toward the east of Spain and around the Balearics.
Showers and thundery outbreaks for Italy and mainland Greece, whilst the Aegean islands and eastern Mediterranean should stay dry. Areas of rain for southern France and the Alps, whilst northern France and the Low Countries will be largely dry. Much of Germany also stays dry, whilst some showers affect the Czech Republic. A risk of more widespread rain and mountain snow for Romania.
High pressure over southern Scandinavia maintains fair weather aroudn the Baltic. Fronts affecting the west of Norway brings rain and brisk winds to coasts and mountains.


Monday
High pressure stays in charge across northern-central Europe. A continued cool easterly winds for central countries from Ukraine and Belarus to the Czech Republic, Germany and the Low Countries.
Low pressure over southern Spain brings rain to central-eastern Spain, although Portugal should escape mainly dry. A few showers for Italy, perhaps more widespread around Sicily. Heavy rain and mountain snow affects Romania, Bulgaria and Greece. Showery for the Greek islands and western Turkey. Patchy rain extends west into Hugary and the Balkans.
Some bursts of rain developing too for southern France, whilst central and northern France will be dry with sunshine best toward the north. Generally dry across northern Europe, including much of Scandinavia. A southwesterly breeze brings patchy rain around northwestern fringes of Norway.
