Showers persist across the eastern Mediterranean

Today
Colder across Britain but dry and sunny. A cold and wintry day across Germany, Poland, The Baltic States into Russia with outbreaks of snow, some of it heavy. Snow showers to affect parts of Belgium and The Netherlands with a sunny, cold day across Denmark, and into southern parts of Norway and Sweden. Dry today across Finland. Dry and sunny with morning frost and fog across The Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Austria, The Czech Republic, Hungary and the Adriatic Region. Sunny and dry again across western parts of Turkey with snow in the east. Most of Italy should be dry today with showers around Sardinia and Corsica. Heavy rain to affect Portugal and western Spain. Further showers are expected from the Greek Isles to Cyprus.

More rain is in the forecast for Portugal and western parts of Spain. High pressure is expected to give eastern Spain, France, Britain, The Low Countries, western Poland and Austria a dry day with morning frost and sunny spells. Rain is forecast across Denmark with snow expected across Norway and Sweden. Cold but dry and sunny across Finland today. Very wintry across The Baltic States, Russia, Belarus, eastern Poland, The Ukraine, Romania and Croatia with outbreaks of snow. Expect rain, sleet and snow across Bosnia and Serbia. Much of Turkey will be fine and sunny but cold. Sunny across Greece and southern parts of Italy while rain is expected across northern Italy. Further showers will affect the eastern half of the Mediterranean.
